Rescuing and looking after cats costs a lot. We need to raise at least £50,000 a year, which covers the cost of caring for and rehoming hundreds of cats and kittens in Oxfordshire. This represents very good value when you take into account the cost of accomodation, food, litter, heating, laundry, veterinary care, printing, postage and telephone bills - but it all costs approximately £1000 per week!
Our administration costs are kept to a minimum. None of the volunteers are paid for their help. All the money we raise is used directly to help cats and kittens in need.
We depend on public generosity for our finances, and welcome any donations, either of money or cat food added to our collection bins in supermarkets. Every hundred tins frees £40 for vets' bills, giving another cat a new start in life.
Most of our money comes from individual donations, fund-raising activities, and the contributions made by new cat owners.
How can I help?
Can you offer a home to one of our needy cats? If not, could you sponsor one of our cat cabins?
Can you help with our work? Fundraising, cat trapping, home visiting or fostering - we are always in need of more helpers! Please leave a message on our answerphone (01235 221147) or email oxfordcats@hotmail.com.
If you can't do either of the above, perhaps you would consider making a donation, and receiving our quarterly newsletter 'Cats Whiskers' for only £10 per year? Go to our donate page for details.
If you have a website or a myspace/facebook page you can act as a matchmaker to help find our cats homes by embedding one of our links, snippets or feeds.
Finally you can help us simply by doing your shopping! If you shop online, you can do your shopping with a number of large retailers though our online shop. You pay the same price as if you shop direct with them but we get a commission.
